The Conventional core barrel B type is designed for in situ tests in homogenous formations.

The simple core barrel 131B is available from diameter 46mm to diameter 146mm for your in situ tests. You can get this core barrel in different lengths: 500, 1 000, 1 500 and 3 000 mm. The core barrel head is also available alone.

This type of core barrel, which does not have an internal tube, is often used when a lower cost per meter drilled is required compared to double core barrels. Indeed, it has fewer component parts in its design and the bits have a small cutting surface which justifies a lower cost of use.The thinner bits result in faster penetration.

Much care must be taken though as the absence of an inner tube does not allow to obtain the complete samples in heterogeneous formations.
