The T2 core barrel is a double tube core barrel with the inner tube mounted on bearings. The preservation of the core is its main advantage. This type of core barrel is available in diameter from 46 to 101 mm.

Its thin kerf design allows a high penetration rate, a lower diamond cost and a larger core than the series T6.
