Choosing Your Elephant Impregnated Bits Matrix Hardness
Wireline coring success requires a precise match between matrix hardness and geology. Therefore, Technidrill provides Elephant impregnated bits five distinct matrix options:
- T1-4 Series: This extremely hard matrix is designed for soft rock. Specifically, it withstands highly abrasive conditions and heavily fractured ground.
- T4-6 Series: Engineered for soft to medium-hard rock, this matrix excels in ground of medium hardness and abrasiveness.
- T5-7 Series: This versatile matrix suits medium-hard to hard rock. Consequently, it serves as the ideal starting choice for unknown geology.
- T7-9 Series: Optimized for hard to very hard rock, this softer matrix wears down systematically. As a result, it cuts compact rock with low abrasiveness.
- T9-11 Series: Specifically designed for extreme formations, this ultra-soft matrix ensures continuous self-sharpening in very hard and smooth rock.
Waterway Profiles for Elephant Impregnated Bits
Standard impregnation height is 13 mm. In addition, alternative heights remain available upon request. Technidrill provides three hydraulic waterway designs:
- Standard Waterway (STD): This profile provides a large contact surface. Therefore, it absorbs vibrations and delivers steady penetration in variable ground.
- Turbo Waterway: Available from B-size up, this profile intentionally reduces contact surface. Consequently, it increases unit pressure and stimulates self-sharpening.
- Face Discharge: Available from N-size up, dedicated ports direct fluid outward. Thus, it eliminates wash-out effects on fragile core samples.
Need Solutions for Ultra-Hard Formations? Discover Leopard
Do your drilling runs face extreme geology exceeding 8 on the Mohs scale? For those ultra-hard conditions, explore our Leopard impregnated bits. While Elephant impregnated bits handle variable geology, the Leopard range optimizes penetration in complex, ultra-hard rock.
